Obama Administration Ends High-Tech Border Fence
Congress ordered the high-tech fence in 2006 amid a clamor for more border security. The project yielded 53 miles of protection and cost taxpayers about $1 billion. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano says proven technology will be used in the future.
