Pope Names 2 Americans Among 24 New Cardinals
Pope Benedict XVI said the new "princes of the church'' will be formally elevated at a ceremony in Rome on Nov. 20. Eight of the new cardinals are Italian, bringing to 25 the number of Italians in the body that will elect Benedict's successor and giving a boost to Italian hopes of regaining the papacy.
