Panel Finds Widespread Waste In Wartime Contracts

An independent commission found that lax oversight of contractors, poor planning and corruption have resulted in losses of "at least $31 billion, and possibly as much as $60 billion" during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The panel also concluded that there has been a "tremendous over-reliance" on contractors by the U.S. government.
